All substitute applications are found on the SchoolSpring job board. Please monitor the Careers webpage for updates. 

Substitute postings are listed on the website all year long and as one posting closes, another opens. If you have applied to a posting and it closes, you will need to reapply to the new posting. New references must be provided if the previous references are over one (1) year old.

• Substitute Paraprofessional- High school diploma/GED
• Non-Degreed Substitute Teacher- At least 48 college credit hours
• Degreed Substitute Teacher- Bachelor's degree 
• Substitute Cosmetology Teacher- Cosmetology Operator's License plus at least a high school diploma/GED

For degreed substitute teacher positions, unofficial college transcripts with degree conferred date must be uploaded to the application. Clear photocopies of degrees are also accepted. For all other positions, transcripts (official or unofficial) or clear photocopies of diplomas or degrees are acceptable and must be uploaded to the application. HR staff may ask to view the original document prior at any time during the hiring process.

Yes, at least one (1) professional reference from your current or most recent employment must be returned and is a critical part of your application. If you are a recent graduate, a teacher or professor reference is appropriate.

• The online application has been successfully submitted.
• The required proof of education has been provided.
• Confirmation of at least one positive professional reference (reference requests are electronically sent to references upon application submission).

Applicants have the capability to update their online application with their user identification and password at any time.

• Application Received -  Your application has been successfully submitted.
• Substitute- Pending Background/Fingerprint Clearance: Your application is currently awaiting background checks and fingerprinting results.
• Substitute-Under Review: Your application is under final review and pending a decision.
• Substitute- Pending Data Entry: Great news! Your application has been approved and is now in the data entry queue.
• Substitute- Pending Onboarding/I-9: Data entry is done; it's time to complete onboarding and I-9 verification.
• Substitute- Deactivate: Your application was incomplete, leading to its deactivation and halting the review process.

Monitor your references by logging in to your application and checking the references tab. You can also log in to your application to check the current status For any additional inquiries, please send an email to subapplicant@cfisd.net.
 

Your application will be reviewed by the CFISD Substitute Office. Please note that all applications are reviewed, but not all are approved. If approved, you will be sent an e-mail with further instructions.

In the meantime, please do the following:

• MONITOR your references – Check your references to ensure that they have returned the reference form.
• REVIEW your e-mail –  Should you be selected to continue the process or if additional information is needed, all communication will occur via e-mail.

• Submit onboarding paperwork.
• Complete substitute orientation.
• Present acceptable documents for the I-9 verification.
